I am Anish Prasad Lohani, a rising junior at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. My academic journey is driven by curiosity, discipline, and a passion for merging science with societal impact.
Research & Academic Focus
I am actively engaged in projects spanning:
- Differential splicing analysis in breast cancer cells (dry lab phase in Nepal)
- Laboratory research in Qatar (wet lab phase, post-Eid)
- Bioinformatics tool analysis and scientific writing
To strengthen my foundation, I am building expertise in Python and R (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, ggplot) and advancing my knowledge in statistics and computational biology.
Community Engagement
Beyond academics, I am deeply committed to service:
- Collaborated with the Autism Society to empower autistic children with essential skills and guide parents/teachers on effective approaches.
- Partnered with the Lions Club on sustainable tree plantation initiatives to preserve the environment.
- Worked with the Leprosy Foundation on research into antibiotic resistance and explored ayurvedic remedies.
Vision for the Future
I aspire to integrate my expertise in biology and chemistry to drive innovation in Nepal. My long-term vision is to establish a chemical fertilizer industry that provides affordable, high-quality fertilizers to empower Nepali farmers. This initiative will strengthen the nation鈥檚 GDP and foster the cultivation of medicinal herbs for breakthroughs in Nobel-level medicine.
